An Update from St. Hugh’s of Lincoln, Idyllwild

The following was provided to St. Margaret’s News from the Diocese this afternoon.

We covet your prayers for our Episcopal church in Idyllwild, St. Hugh’s of Lincoln. The Rev. Dan Rondeau, vicar, updated us today to say that the winds have shifted back toward the town, which means danger for the church and all the structures there. The electricity has been cut off and every member of the parish evacuated. They do not know when power will be restored. The library has been turned into a cooling center for first responders. The firefighters are working the fireline diligently. The fire is 25% contained according to the most recent news report. If you would like to reach out to Father Rondeau, he is taking calls on his mobile: 760-285-0834.

Prayer for Preparedness and Response
O God, our times are in your hand. In the midst of uncertainty lead us by your never-failing grace as we seek to be agents of healing and hope. Walk with us through difficult times; watch over us in danger; and give to us a spirit of love and compassion for those who suffer and mourn. And finally remind us that you have promised never to leave us so that even in the valley of the shadow of death your love may be felt, through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN.
