An Update from the Diocesan Transition Committee

Guided by the Holy Spirit, the work of the transition committee has begun! The diocesan transition committee held its retreat at Grace, San Marcos on March 9-10. Sixteen members of our diocese gathered to learn about their call to serve the diocese, their duties and responsibilities. Commissioned by the standing committee, their work will progress over the next 18 months. They are charged with assisting and guiding the transition process of our diocese as we elect and consecrate a new bishop. They are also charged with welcoming the bishop-elect and family to the diocese.

The retreat included morning and evening prayer, committee and sub-committee meetings, as well as planning for ongoing communication to the members of the diocese about their work. They will focus their efforts on communication, the electing convention, walk-abouts, support of the candidates, the bishop-elect and family, and the consecration.

Grace, San Marcos staff welcomed them warmly with smiles and delicious meals. The committee thanks them for providing a comfortable, sacred space.

They ask all members of our diocese to keep them in their prayers as they commence their work.
