Compline Returns for its Second Season

Beginning this Sunday, October 6, St. Margaret’s Schola Cantorum, under the direction of Mark Austin, will begin its second season of Sunday evening Compline services. Compline will be offered on the first Sunday of the month through May, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

This service is drawn from the most contemplative and meditative of the monastic offices begun in the Middle Ages. It is a candlelit service offering music from Gregorian Chant and early polyphony to the contemporary music of modern mystics.

New to this season is a meditative prelude before each service. Music for these preludes will be performed by local organists and musical groups.

If you love music or if you’re looking for a deeply spiritual way to end your weekend and prepare for the coming week, you will enjoy this service. Bring a friend. Invite a neighbor.
