Scientist. Entrepreneur. Author. Professor.  Each of these words could be used to describe Dr. Vince Heuring, a member of the Vestry Class of 2019.

Vince has attended St. Margaret’s since 2013 and attends the 10:00 service primarily. He is married to Gretchen Heuring, Stewardship Chair for 2018-2019. They have a blended family of seven children raised together since they were young.

Vince completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry at the University of Cincinnati, his Master’s Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering also at the University of Cincinnati, and his Ph.D. in Chemical Physics at the University of Florida.

He worked as a research staff member and later Section Head for Product Development for Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati. Following his stint at P&G, he was ran his own business Intelligent Devices in Cincinnati and later was manager of the Computerized Monitoring Products Division of the Zonic Corporation. In 1983, he moved to the world of academia, first as a Resident Associate at the University of Cincinnati and moving a year later to the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He remained at CU until he retired in 2011 as Professor Emeritus. Vince is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He is the author of several books on computer engineering and has done consulting work for the U.S. Patent Office. He even holds several patents himself!

At St. Margaret’s, Vince is a Eucharistic Minister, serves on the Communications Committee and is working on the issue of emergency preparedness. In addition, he was Stewardship Chair in 2014.

As a Vestry member, his goals for 2018 are to complete disaster and security plans for St. Margaret’s and to assist in the work of Communications Committee.

When asked about St. Margaret’s, Vince said, “I am pleased to be a member of a wonderful church, with such a rich history and excellent music and worship program.”
