For nearly a year, St. Margaret’s has missed the convenience of a full kitchen to serve our own church family and other visitors, weddings and Desert Friends of Music receptions, funeral luncheons, educational seminars, AA group meetings, and more. That time will come to an end soon.
On July 28, our new “state of the art” kitchen will debut with a special celebration following the 10 a.m. service. Champagne will be served during coffee hour which will include live music.
The new kitchen will feature a commercial dishwasher, ice maker, new gas stoves/ovens, and stainless countertops and cabinetry. It is designed to last far into the future and will be easy to care for and gentle to the environment.
The budget for this project was $50,000. Contributions from the committee and other donors have already covered $12,500. You can help with this rebuild by pledging or donating funds. Consider adopting an appliance or other fixture.
You can also help by becoming a “Kitchen Angel.” Between July 7 and July 21, you can volunteer to clean and sort dishes, pans and utensils, and inaugurate the new dishwasher!
Another way you can help is to join the Kitchen Guild. This new ministry will give you the opportunity to know how to keep the kitchen sparkling, mentor others, and coordinate the kitchen schedule.
The members of the Kitchen Remodel Committee are: Mark Austin, E. S. Cecile, Shirley Coombs, Andy Duvall, Mary Ann Ekman, Gene Erickson, Bruce Fowler, Barbara McEwen, Berneil Mroz, and Eva Myers. The entire St. Margaret’s family is grateful for their faithful work on this project.
