The Blessing of the Animals – Sunday, October 6

St. Margaret’s is pleased to announce that this year’s Blessing of the Animals will be part of the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, October 6.

Everyone is encouraged to bring your pet(s) to church for that service that morning. For the safety of both humans and fur/feathered family members, all animals attending church that morning must be on a leash or in an appropriate cage. Invite your friends and neighbors and encourage them to bring their pets also.

We understand that this service may be loud…barking, meowing, crowing, talking, and all other animal sounds are welcome! They will lift their voices along with ours in praise to God!

As is the case with any gathering involving animals, there is a slight chance that some pets may become nervous or agitated. You know your pet better than anyone else, so if this happens, we encourage you to take them outside for a walk and then rejoin the service.

In addition to the blessing of the animals, we are also collecting bagged pet food to share with our Neighbors4Neighbors friends who may have furry or feathered companions who are also in need of nourishment.

If you’re unable to attend the service, please let Debby know that you’d like a pet blessing at your home, and we’ll make arrangements to do so.
